Where to Renew Your Vows in London

Considering saying "I do" all over again in London? I've put together a blog on all you need to know about finding the most romantic spots in the city to renew your vows.

As a celebrant, I know that picking the perfect setting is key to creating a moment you'll remember for years to come. From historic landmarks to lush gardens and everything in between, London's got something for every couple looking to recommit to each other.

If you're considering a vow renewal ceremony, a great starting point is to make a list of places meaningful to you in your relationship. Whether it's a hotel you once visited and keep returning to, a restaurant you share a special memory in, an area that was defining in the early stages of your relationship or even the venue you first got married in. The beauty of renewing your vows with a celebrant is that you get to tell the story of you and your lives throughout the years. So picking a spot that’s meaningful to you both can be an ideal starting place.

But if you're new to the city and know you want to renew your vows in London but aren't sure where to start, I've put together a list of some amazing London spots to consider. These include iconic London locations like beautiful parks and historic buildings. So whether you’re planning an intimate renewal with just the two of you and a few guests, or a big affair to celebrate your continuing love with everyone you know, there’s a special place for you.

I’ve detailed a real mix of places — from low cost, lo-fi outdoor options to iconic London venues, so if quintessentially London is your brief, you can hopefully find something that suits.

The Shard's Sky Garden: Picture yourself being surrounded by lush greenery, sipping champagne, and taking in jaw-dropping views of London's skyline from high above. That's what you'll get at The Shard's Sky Garden, where romance reaches new heights — quite literally in this case!

You can book a free ticket to check out the views before you inquire.

The Globe Theatre: For Shakespeare fans, look no further than The Globe Theatre, where you can exchange vows on the very stage where the Bard's greatest works came to life. Talk about a theatrical declaration of love!

Regent's Park: If you want the London experience but without the hustle and bustle, Regent's Park is your oasis of calm amidst London's chaos. You can choose from multiple venue options, including an indoor room for your reception and an outdoor marquee.

The Cutty Sark: The historic Cutty Sark clipper ship offers a one-of-a-kind setting for renewing your vows. It's got maritime charm and a riverside location. You can capture the most stunning sunset photos overlooking London's skyscrapers. Plus, there's plenty to do in and around Greenwich after your ceremony.

The Orangery at Kensington Palace: Exchange vows in regal style amidst classical architecture and manicured gardens. If British royal history is for you, it doesn’t get more iconic than this, for royals past and present.

The venue has a Sky Terrace that overlooks Hyde Park with a retractable roof in case it rains, or the weather turns cold.

Tower Bridge: This makes a pretty iconic backdrop for your vow renewal, looking across London's glittering skyline. Choose between the Victorian Engine Rooms, the North Tower Lounge and the panoramic high-level walkways.

The Roof Gardens: Surrounded by lush greenery, exotic flamingos, and cascading waterfalls, The Roof Gardens in Kensington is the ultimate rooftop paradise. It is located 100ft above London and offers three gardens for a vow renewal.

Hampstead Heath: Hampstead Heath is a slice of romance right in the heart of London. Find a secluded spot amidst sprawling heathland and woodlands to reaffirm your commitment.

Kew Gardens: Kew Gardens is your go-to spot for a vow renewal if lucious greenery is your dream aesthetic. The place is surrounded by vibrant flowers, serene ponds, and enchanting greenhouses. A personal favorite of mine – for weddings and wandering!

Last summer, I married a couple in the wedding in The Nash Conservatory at Kew. The floor-to-ceiling windows bring all this natural light into place which is awesome for photos.

The Serpentine Lake: The Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park provides a tranquil setting for your vow renewal. You could even do it on the water itself in a rowboat.

The Royal Observatory Greenwich: The starry night sky at the Royal Observatory Greenwich, with its sweeping views of London and beyond, provides a celestial setting for a vow renewal.

The Churchill War Rooms: History buffs can step back in time at The Churchill War Rooms, exchange vows amidst the historic underground bunker that served as Winston Churchill's wartime headquarters.

The Barbican Conservatory: One of my favorite London spots as a celebrant. Find a tropical paradise in the heart of the city at the Barbican Conservatory. It's wall to wall with exotic plants, cascading water features, and vibrant wildlife.

The Horniman Museum and Gardens: Another real hidden gem in South London. The museum has amazing eclectic collections, verdant gardens, and panoramic views of the city.

So, whether you're drawn to historic landmarks, tranquil gardens, or hidden gems off the beaten path, there is an ideal London vow renewal ceremony for every couple looking to recommit to each other and celebrate their love.
